When would I correlate?
Written By Gareth Lloyd
When you are investigating an area for a leak, a correlation is used to try and pinpoint the precise location of the leak. It is very important to confirm that leak noise is present on any asset you use for the correlation, if the leak noise is not present on one of the assets, the correlation will be unsuccessful.
Please note, if the assets are too close together then it can be difficult to get an accurate result as the time delay between the two assets will be too little for the correlation to work.
