What is the process to investigate a Waypoint?

When investigating Waypoints using the FIDO sensors here are some steps we recommend you take.
Once you get to site we suggest running either a 5 minute, 30 minute or 1 hour session on the assets in the vicinity of the leak prediction. This helps you to confirm that A: the noise is still present in the day and B: which assets are usable for the correlations (Please note, if one of the assets has no noise present, any correlation including that asset will be unsuccessful)
Once you know which assets are picking up the leak noise, it is time to set up your correlations. We advise to correlate up and down stream from the asset that went into leak alarm. Overnight sessions cannot predict the location of a leak and so the leak could be in any direction.
If the correlations are unsuccessful, use sounding on every available asset (including isolation taps where possible). This will help you to narrow down the leak location, if one particular tap has a good noise then we can narrow investigations around that point.
If you get a successful correlation, switch sounding to ‘distance’ mode, place your sensor on the provided sounding base and take samples over an 8m area (4m up and down stream from the correlation location).
If the sound is not present during the day or if the area is too noisy due to traffic, then it is sometimes best to investigate through the night.
