How far should I leave between sensors when monitoring my network?

When deploying sensors across your network to monitor the area (Lift & Shift or Fixed Network Monitor), the distance between sensors completely depends on the material of the mains.

Plastic mains carry sound a much shorter distance and so, the sensors should be placed closer together to get full coverage. We advise a sensor is placed, at least, every 80m to make sure you have optimal coverage of the network.

For Metallic mains, the sound carries much further and so you can place the sensors further apart, for good coverage, we suggest that a sensor is placed every 150-200m.
